... and into {December}

There are pros and cons of working at the same school Caden attends.  I heard something behind me one day, while school was in session, I turn around, and he is in my purse helping himself to ibuprofen.  His leg was hurting him, and he took it upon himself to feel better. He's definitely independent, confident and considers school his home just as much as his real home. ... and during the school week, he's there 40+ hours with me.
Bonnie & David {Dan's parents} moved over to our side of the mountains, the week after Thanksgiving.  They purchased a house on the other side of the golf course.  I did have to give my father in law a hard time ... in all of our valley and they choose four minutes from us ... I guess that just means we live in a good area and they wanted to follow our lead {ha!}
Dan and Caden helped unload the U-Haul ... while I departed for a girls night.  The girls night was already planned, when they found out when they received their keys ... I lucked out ;-)
{the halls were decked}
I learned to like {not love} my fake tree
love where I call home
... goodies ready, for a girls "Bad Mom's" movie night.  If you haven't seen Bad Mom's yet, it's a must see! ... one of my favorites.
We received our first snow of the year on December 5th ... I think it's going to be a very long winter.
... but this kid doesn't mind.  We scored an awesome deal on this snow blower.  It was a much needed tool since we have the never ending corner lot of sidewalk.  Our old neighbors were downsizing into a condo, and offered this to Dan for a great price. We couldn't say no ... Caden has been chomping at the bits since late summer to use it.
The monster had his first strings concert. It was so funny listening to him weeks before the performance. Of course he is still learning, and doesn't sound the best.  He's keenly aware he needs improvement, so he told us that during the performance he was going to move his bow, but not make it touch his strings, then he wouldn't make sound {ha}. I think he really played ... and they sounded as first year students would sound. I'm looking forward to their spring concert to hear the improvement.
Mid December was the Puget Sound LPA Christmas party.  The holidays are such a busy time of year, there was tons of snow in the passes, it was a gorgeous sunny weekend at home, and I was really dreading heading to Seattle for the weekend. ... but when I opened up his planner, and saw this "Crimmas {aka Christmas} Party" I knew we had to go.  Again, I know C doesn't question why he is small because we've always let him know he isn't the only one. ... so we ventured out ...
Dan gave the driveway a quick plow and we loaded up the car ...
The drive was awful!  The worst I've seen the passes in several years.  Both over and back ... cars spun off the road everywhere ... but we made it.
I only have one picture of him at the party ...  he's too cool to stop for pics.
We got in a little retail therapy while over there, stayed at the Westin and then began the journey home ...  {yikes}
... always a clown ...
Pajama day at school ... one of his favorites!  He woke up at 5:00 {an hour and a half too early}the morning of, and excitedly came in to tell me it was "pajama day" ... how could I have forgot, he has only been asking when such day was since the first day of school.
... elf made a short, four day visit this year ...
... more fresh snow ... told you it was going to be a long winter ...
... although I don't love winter ... I love the colors of the season ...
... a few more elf visits ...
 ... our yearly Leavenworth adventure {to see the lights} ...
... and that wraps up the first part of December, we sure are enjoying Winter Break this year ... up next, Christmas.
